About

Mark Gilroy is a 25-year veteran of that strange, fulfilling, and maddening world called the publishing industry. He's packed boxes, edited manuscripts, made sales calls, created marketing plans, directed design and illustration, started companies, agented the works of others, and written advertising and catalog copy. He's authored, compiled, and ghost written books that have landed on an array of bestsellers lists and sold millions of copies.

He serves publishers, business organizations, ministries and non-profits, retail chains, and authors as a book packager, content manager, literary agent, and consultant.

In early 2012 he will wear a new hat in the publishing industry: Fiction author. His debut novel will be released in March 2012 by Worthy Publishing.

Most recently Mark served in the corporate publishing world as publisher over the specialty, gift, and backlist publishing divisions of Thomas Nelson, the leading Christian publisher in the world and one of the six largest publishers in the U.S.

Gilroy served in the same role as senior vice president with Integrity Publishers, which was acquired by Nelson in September 2006. In his first months with Integrity, he acquired a project from Newt Gingrich, Rediscovering God in America, which hit the NY Times bestseller lists in less than two weeks in the market and that continues to sell well four years later.

Previously, Mark held the position of Executive Vice President and Publisher of both Albury Publishing Company, where he launched three new best-selling Jesus Freaks projects in 2001, and RiverOak Publishing, a trade publishing company he founded for the Eagle Communications International (ECI) family of publishers in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Gilroy came to Honor from Nazarene Publishing House in Kansas City, Missouri, where he was Director of WordAction Publishing Company, the curriculum division and the company's largest business unit. In the three years that he led the division, sales more than doubled. He held a variety of editorial, marketing, and management positions with NPH, starting with editor of senior high curriculum.

Gilroy has extensive writing credits, including his first book, Spending Time With God, a devotional for teens which has sold more than 100,000 units and been translated into numerous languages, most recently Arabic. He is proud of the fact that it is still in print more than 25 years later. He scripted and served as creative consultant for a two-hour training video that was honored with the Award of Excellence by the International Television Association. He has compiled and written close to fifty books and penned several hundred articles and curriculum pieces for a variety of periodicals and publishers.

Mark's customer and client list includes Baker Books, Barbour Books, the Barnes & Nobel publishing division, Campus Crusade for Christ, Costco, HarperOne, Random House, Regal Books, Sams Clubs, Standard Publishing, Thomas Nelson, Turning Point, Worthy Publishing, and a number of other authors, business organizations, ministries, and retailers.

Gilroy is a graduate of Olivet Nazarene University (B.A.) with a double major in Biblical Literature and Speech Communications. He also holds two graduate degrees, the M.B.A. from Baker University, and the M.Div. from Nazarene Theological Seminary.

Gilroy and his wife Amy live in Brentwood, Tennessee, with two children still at home. Their children are Lindsey, Merrick, Ashley, Caroline, Bo, and Zachary.
